Box-it Central ORM launch celebrates Archiving and Afternoon Tea
Our Omnidox Records Manager (ORM) launch event held on 17th June 2015 was very well received. We hosted the event in our conference room here at Box-Central and officially unveiled the latest version of ORM to guests, who represented a range of Warwickshire based businesses.
The event started with an introductory welcome from Box-it Central’s Managing Partner, Emlyn Evans who broadly outlined the document management services we offer and the experience we have in the physical and digital records management industry. Then, it was time to talk about ORM.
Account Manager, Dan Ward, started by discussing the problems associated with paper, and especially the challenge of managing both physical and digital documents. This was the ideal precursor to ORM; Box-it’s Cloud based secure portal for managing physical archives online, built-on proven Omnidox technology. Unlike other products for archiving management, ORM enables users to manage archives stored at multiple sites through one single online view.
Dan explained that to make document storage efficient, you need to be able to retrieve exactly what you want, when you want. ORM has comprehensive search and retrieval tools, which is a key feature of the system. You can see your archiving inventory at both box and file level, set review dates, add content descriptions, and order collections/deliveries online. You can add boxes to your archives, and even files to existing boxes. Users can also see the history of a box or file, as the system monitors movement (that is, in or out of storage), details any changes that have been made and gives information about exactly what those changes are.
Orders are placed by adding items/requests to a ‘shopping basket’ (similar to any other online shopping experience) and consumables can also be ordered in this way.
A strong feature of ORM is that it promotes good practice and consistency in records management, and is very user-friendly. For example, it forces users to enter the correct number of digits for a file or box bar code. The system is also highly configurable which makes it versatile for many users, as certain fields can be customised to suit individual business needs. It is also very easy to set up and import data from existing spreadsheets.
Guests were very impressed with ORM and the day concluded with afternoon tea in our picturesque Box-it Central gardens. Thank you to everyone who attended.
Don’t worry if you couldn’t make the event. We would be delighted to give you a free demo of ORM. Please get in touch with Dan Ward for further details. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
